Inspiration on Demand was created out of a project called I Helped Change a Life— a mission based on personal necessity, founded by accident and created by a community.
Like many of us who struggle to stay positive, I had been—for years—posting positive affirmations for myself each morning on various social media platforms. Thousands of social media users began to comment, “Like”, and suggest that they wanted to see a compilation of these affirmations for daily reference and to share with others who were also struggling.
Because so many people suggested that I do a book, I realized that the project was as much about their wants as it was for my own need for positive reinforcement. The answer to those wants and needs became I Helped Change a Life. This project allowed social media users to help create the book everyone said I should write. They chose the title Inspiration on Demand. They also chose the dimensions, cover style, and all other aspects. In return, they received free signed print copies, signed & personalized posters, and an opportunity to be included as a contributor to the work. Not only did they collaboratively create this book, they changed my life, their own lives and the lives of others with whom they chose to share this book.
Together we created Inspiration on Demand. Hopefully, it will positively impact the lives of all who read it. No matter the results, making this book has inspired me and provided me a new family full of friends. It’s given me an overwhelming of sense of pride, and caused me to intensely and personally reflect. I Helped Change a Life is not about me. It’s about the process of working together to create and deliver a positive message to the world.
I would like to personally thank each and every contributor and participant who pushed me to create a project that would allow me to learn to let go while developing a book, a project, and a community more amazing than I could have dreamed. –Joshua J. Coburn
